Darwin: The Domestic Goddess Part 13

I had a bunch of fruit in my fridge that needed getting rid of, so what better way than to bake as an excuse for using them up? I decided to try out a 'Chocolate Berry Torte'.

Melt chocolate, mix with butter and cream.
Whisk egg whites in a separate bowl with sugar until they form thick glossy peaks. Beat in the egg yolks and flour and cocoa. Mix in the melted chocolate from the previous step. Gently pour half the mixture into the cake tin and then dot half the berries evenly over it. Pour the rest of the cake mixture on top of the berries. Bake for about 1hour.
Make the icing by melting chocolate and stirring in butter, cream and icing sugar. Pour over the cake to coat it completely and leave for at least 1 hour at room temperature to harden. I love how glossy it looks. Do not refrigerate the cake once it's been iced as the icing will lose it's shine.
Serve with custard and the remaining berries.
Since this torte is so deliciously moist and melt-in-the-mouth heavenly, there are no leftovers afterwards so storage isn't really a problem!

Sigh.

You should be shot for making us go through this torture.

On a happier note however, I love the way the icing is nice and glossy. But don't you have trouble making it smooth and flat? When I help my mum out in the kitchen I have a battle royal with the spatula when smoothening the fudge, because try as I may, it NEVER comes nice and smooth.

Chaarmax: I cant decide on the restraints. Bring our own rope or use the bondage gear she prob has under her bed? ;) :)

We'll have bigger problems on what to take home once we raid the kitchen :\

I have a few Wire-Ties nicked from office.. but err bondage.. hmm err.. I dunno.. *trying to avoid mental pictures*

The key is not to be greedy. What she has in the kitchen, She can make for us. So we nab her with what ever available restraints (bondage or otherwise) only for purposes of restraining (just in case some folks might get the WRONG idea) and make a run for it.

Later we'll publish her address on our blogs so a) we'll get more hits and b) those lucky bloggers can finish up what's in the kitchen and cover our evidence (by planting all of theirs).

What say you? Is that a plan? Btw do u think she reads her blog? If she does we'll lose the element of surprise and the said "gear" might be replaced by a cookie monster under her bed. :)
