Darwin: The Domestic Goddess Part 11
The next thing I tried off my trusty recipe book was 'Scrummy Chocolate Swirl Shortbread'. I'm not usually a fan of shortbread as it's too crumbly and not sweet enough, but hey if it's got chocolate in it then it's got to be decent right?
Roll out both doughs into equal sized rectangles and place the chocolate one on top of the plain one. This is where the inner perfectionist/pedant in me really starts hating it because I hate rolling out dough as I can never get it right and it just seems to take forever. Sprinkle chopped up dark chocolate on top. Roll it up tightly like a Swiss roll.

What's the cook book?! I am going to make this stuff - the receipe that I really want is the last one you did though! :)
ahhh.... July's going to be such a great month!!! :D
Awwww..... I'm SO drooling right now! D'ya know, I came across this cookbook (priced well over 2500/-) in a tiny bookshop in Mt. Was wondering if it was worth buying since we don't have Black&Gold chocolate in SL and therecipies probably won't work with kandos chocolate... :(
Dogfight: Ooh chocolate rotti would be awesome! Now you're making ME drool lol!
Azrael: Thanks!
LD: Thanks! I'll post pics of one of my 'failures' soon though!
Scrumpulicious: Tis the 'Green and Black's Unwrapped Chocolate Recipe Book'. I mentioned it first over here.
Diga: Ha ha :P
Angel: Ok the book is very good, so far I've tried quite a few of the recipies as you can see from the blog, no complaints so far. You don't *HAVE* to use Green & Black's chocolate but no no no, Kandos won't do. What you need is a high quality chocolate with at least 60% cocoa solids. I used Lindt when I was baking in SL (Lindt 70% Dark Chocolate), that was available in supermarkets last July so it should still be around. and that does the trick. Goodluck!
Angel: Also, if you're not too fussed about buying the book, just get in touch with me by email (retarded_bratATgmailDOTcom) and I'll give you recipe details and so on :)
I'm wondering if i shud give up reading your cooking posts altogether because I cant afford to be driven mad any more than I already am :P LOL
Do you really need one more account of how delicious that looks? I actually like the crumblyness: very homemade, innocent like.. :)
Thanks for this - my kids now wish me to make them!!!! Guess i will be in the kitchen tomorrow....bet mine arent half as good as yours!
This comment thingy is giving me a hard time, so I'm 'anon' here for now.
So when's the 'Darwin's Recipes' book coming out? Adding your touch to the established ones with your photos should be a seller!
Hey, how come you're not fat???
Java Jones
sometimes when im hungry i come stalk your blog.
Thanks Darwin! I guess the book is worth getting if I can use locally available chocolate. Could you do me a favour and let me know a rough % of the recipies that are egg-free? If it's not many, then I think I shall take up on your kind offer instead!
Cheers for the New Year!
Mmm, those look tasty. And best of all, they're made with love!
Dili: Haha! Nope, the feedback, even though it's based on merely a visual evaluation is still much appreciated! Thanks a lot for saying all the nice things you've said about my cooking :)
Gill: LOL! I hope they turned out well!
Java: Lol sorting out a bakery is plan B if this PhD thing doesn't work out! I'm blessed with a high metabolism so I don't put on weight regardless of how much of a pig I am :D
T: Awww!
Angel: Ok I went through the book and there are 27 eggless recipesand 71 eggy ones. So I'm not really sure if it's worth the price :( On the other hand if there is anything that meets your fancy I could always take a photo of the page and email it to you -saves you the hassle of buying the book! You can find my email address on my profile page to contact me. Oh, and Happy New Year to you too:)
Pan: Thank you! They are indeed!
